Tea at 3 - St Margaret's Hospice - Sunday 5th July 2009
Mad Hatters Chari-tea Success
A tea party was held in aid of local charity St Margaret's Somerset Hospice on Sunday 5th July at Halswell House, Goathurst. Many of those in attendance got into the spirit of the day by sporting a range of interesting hats in true Mad Hatter style.
The Mayor and Mayoress Ken and Margot Richards attended and £510 was raised on the day. This figure can be partially attributed to the hard work the volunteers put into the day including their donation of several home-made cakes.
Julie Draper, Community Fundraiser at St Margaret's commented, "I'd like to thank Halswell House for letting us use their wonderful venue. I'd also like to express my thanks to the local companies that made donations and the wonderful Coastline Singers who sang so beautifully. I would especially like to thank the volunteers and stall holders who gave up their time and helped the day be such a success."
The money raised at the Halswell Tea at 3 event will go towards the general running costs of St Margaret's which totals £25,000 every single day.
